Terms of Use

Play Anywhere is free, forever. Tell the app roughly where you are and it builds a deck for a backyard, a sidewalk, a trail or a city street. There is no limit on how often you play it and it will not start costing money later.

Three featured places are free. Featured places are parks and historic sites with challenges written specifically for them. You choose any three, they are yours permanently, and the app tells you how many you have left before you spend one.

Places you had already played before we introduced the Explorer Pass stay yours. Nobody loses somewhere they have already been.

Some places are free to everybody because a sponsor funds them. Those do not count against your three, and the sponsor is named on the location screen.

The Explorer Pass opens every featured place in the app, including places added after you buy it. There is no extra charge for new places. It comes two ways:

• One year. An auto-renewing subscription. It renews for the same period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Buy once. A single payment, with nothing to renew and nothing to cancel.

Prices are shown in the app in your own currency before you buy, and payment is charged to your Apple or Google account. Both purchases are tied to that store account, not to an account with us — we do not have accounts. “Restore a pass I already bought” in the app brings your pass back on a new phone.

Cancel a yearly pass in your Apple or Google account settings — we have no way to do it for you, and cancelling deletes nothing you have played. You keep access until the period you have paid for ends.

Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies, not by us. If something has gone wrong, write to [email protected] and we will help you sort it out with them.

This is the part that matters most. Game Outside sends families to real places — woods, water, cliffs, quarries, roads and historic sites. A grown-up is in charge of deciding whether a challenge is safe to do, and of everyone's safety on the day. Skip any card that does not suit the place, the weather or the child. The app is not a judge of what is safe where you are standing.

Opening hours, parking, fees and trail conditions change, and the details in the app come from each park's own published information at the time it was written. Check with the park before a long drive.

The challenges, the writing and the artwork belong to Inside The Rink LLC. Play them with your family as much as you like. Do not republish or sell them.

Photos you take in the app stay on your phone and are never sent to us. See the privacy policy, which is short and says what it means.

If these terms change materially we will update this page and change the effective date. Anything you have already bought keeps working on the terms you bought it under.

The app is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those your local law gives you and which cannot be waived. To the extent the law allows, Inside The Rink LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States.
