Draw a card. Go and find it.
An outdoor card game for exploring with your kids — with challenges written for real parks, and a Play Anywhere deck for a backyard, a sidewalk, or the long way home.
- Works anywhere
Climbing Tree
Find the best climbing tree around. You don't have to climb it.
- Great Brook Farm
The Ice Cream Stand
Find the ice cream stand. Whether the adventure ends there is a grown-up decision.
- Detour
Everybody Hops
Pick something close by, and everybody hop all the way to it. Grown-ups too.
Real cards, straight out of the game. Most are this easy — the ones written for a particular park are the reason to drive to one.
How a game goes
Draw a card
Nobody knows what's on it until you flip it. One challenge at a time, so everyone's looking for the same thing.
Go and find it
Together — nobody runs off. A grown-up decides whether it counts, and sneaky answers count too.
Take a Detour
Now and then a card turns up that isn't a challenge at all. Three hundred steps, counted out loud, before the next one.
Finish the deck
Seven cards for a quick adventure, fifteen for a long one. Finish the whole thing and you're Legendary Explorers.
39 places so far
Browse them all →Written for the place
A boulder people sharpened tools on. Bellows eighteen feet long that blew air into a furnace. A building where a famous writer had a job he hated. Every card researched from the park's own records — and if nobody has walked the place yet, the page says so.
Or anywhere at all
Not near one? Tell it roughly where you are — woods, water, a neighborhood, a city — and it builds a deck that fits. A city has water; it's just not a brook.
What it costs
Free, always
Play Anywhere works wherever you are and never costs anything. Three featured places are free too, and you pick which — enough to finish a whole region and earn its crest without paying us a penny.
The Explorer Pass
$19.99 a year, or $49.99 once. Opens every featured place we have written and every one we add. No adverts, no accounts, and nothing you already played is ever taken away.
